TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN The 9th General Assembly of Asian Seismological Commission will be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 2012. The Assembly is expected to be attended by several of the top level scientists from Asian, Asia-Oceania and western countries. The ASC is a sub-commission of the international Association of the Seismology and Physics of the Earth’s interior (IASPEI) which is one of the Associations of the international Union of Geophysics and Geodesy (IUGG). The ASC is held once in two years in which several themes related to earth sciences with special reference to seismological research are discussed. In this Assembly there will be sessions addressing the local problems of interest to the host nation.
As this forum provides a good platform for young researchers, it would be a very good opportunity to interact with the peers in the field. I extend to invitation to all the scientists, especially the younger generation to participate in the Assembly an get the benefit of the presence of several earth scientists. Your participation will be a great boost to seismology research in your country and also to the activities of the ASC in the entire Asian region.
